Sheliak is part of binary star system in the constellation of Lyra. Sheliak 3 is a world orbiting the star Sheliak. At one time this world did contain liquid water and an atmosphere for supporting basic life. Due to the nature of the orbits of Sheliak and its companion star the planets around Sheliak have developed highly eccentric orbits. The extreme temperature changes caused global environmental devastation to Sheliak 3. Over time Sheliak 3 lost most of its water and its atmosphere due to its close approaches to the sun. Also over time Sheliak 4 had its orbit altered by Sheliak companion star. This perturbed orbit would eventually lead to a collision with Sheliak 3.
